Social Worker Suzanne Brake Named First Seniors Advocate in NL

Congratulations are extended to RSW Suzanne Brake on her recent appointment as Seniors Advocate by the provincial government.  The majority of Suzanne's career has been dedicated to advancing the needs of seniors and older adults.  In an interview with CBC News following her appointment, Suzanne noted she is ready to be a voice for seniors - "Seniors themselves have been asking for this for quite a long time. Of course the word advocacy means to speak on behalf of others, to speak on behalf of those who may feel that they might not have a voice or their voice might not be heard.  And that's how many seniors do feel."
