In this presentation, Leona and Kelly will provide a foundational overview of DBT including: the Origins of DBT; Theoretical Underpinnings and Biosocial Theory; Target Populations and Presenting Problems; Treatment Structure and Goals; Review of Skills Modules (i.e. Mindfulness, Distress Tolerance, Emotion Regulation, Interpersonal Effectiveness and Dialectics) and Counseling Tools; and Helpful Resources.
Location: NL Housing and Homelessness Network Learning Centre, 77 Charter Avenue (corner of East Drive). Video broadcasting will also be available on a limited basis; priority will be given to those outside the St. John's region who are not able to attend on site.
Parking for onsite registrants is available in the parking lot across the street from the Learning Centre.
