Developed by Francine Shapiro, PhD, EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Therapy is a best-practice, evidence-based psychotherapy approved by international health and government regulatory bodies throughout the world. An intensive one-week program, offered by Niagara Stress and Trauma Clinic, is scheduled to take place in St. John's NL in May 2020. The training will include two parts:
Part one will focus on teaching the 8 phases of EMDR and its applications to simple PTSD to simpler clinical issues and will take place from May 20 - 23, 2020.
Part two will focus on teaching additional strategies and protocols in order to use EMDR with more complex clinical presentations and special populations (complex PTSD, phobias, children) and is scheduled from May 25 - 27, 2020
